I have discovered that The Skin Factory has created a Desktop Theme for Nascar PC while browsing compusa.com http://www.compusa.com/specials/nascarpc/default.asp?cmid=fod

The page can be viewed at http://theskinsfactory.com/skinsfactory/?page=fvportfolio&id=160

While we appreciate the free skins we get from Alienware created by the TSF, their highly premium suites such as Alienware Star War Desktop theme as well as Nascar PC come with greater price than just buying a desktop theme – You have to be willing to pay for more of what you don’t need to enjoy their best works. We don’t always want free stuffs and we are willing to pay the right price for what we really need.

Before The Skin Factory becomes so famous, the community was there to support them. If we ever get free desktop themes made by The Skin Factory, it’s because the companies the themes were made for allowed them to be. Why can’t The Skin Factory make the same quality theme as the Star War Theme for a $10 for each purchase? Pixtudio’s crew have done so and we are very please with them. We know and respect TSF talent, and we want to be able to use their works at a price we can afford.

They use the Elsius Saint Law by not showing a clear screenshot of the Windowblinds because if he can see it, he can do it.

Because if it wasn't for George Lucas and NASCAR you wouldn't even know about these skins.

Skin theme looks great as usual from The Skins Factory.

PC makers just don't get it.... the NASCAR case is nothin more than a regular PC case with stickers on it. Learn from AlienWare and Mac that people want better looking PC's

Either
A)
They are too busy because skinning and GUI companies that hit it big get allot of contracts.

They forgot where they came from and are more interested in business than the community that created them and their workers.

I've met and talked to allot of companies in the skinning world due to a wreport I have been writing for well over a year, and it is my opinion... wait, better not say.

LOL

Cool new skin though.

Oh and by the way:
I don't think there is anything wrong with having a theme that you can only get if you buy something else. Its called marketing and promotion.

I know that some skinners and artists don't like that, but if your good enough to earn money to skin, then go for it! Just remember how you got there; through the community.

For skinners and peope who don't like the comercialism, either suck it up, or actually DO something about it by making sure the community stays intact, free, and fun. Instead of complaining about howcommercializm will distroy skinning, why not try to help keep the coolnest of skinning that was there when you found out about it? I just thought I mention that because many people talk about it, but don't do anything about it except point and stare. Choose your battles, but if you really care about this issue, do something. /end rant

Due to trademark and copyright TSF can only release as their contracts allow. I don't think they could release a "NASCAR" skin to the public for $10 or for $100 if NASCAR doesn't give approval. That's just business.

I also would like to see them put together something like Rusty Rooster. It's available here without branding and without a fee. It would show some goodwill on their part. The way they currently provide thier "branded" work is utilizing WC's high traffic volume to advertise for free. Smart business, considering the high cost of advertising.
